Who We Are

SoundCage Studios is a story of evolution, both personal and professional.

Beginning from childhood I knew my path. At the age of 3 and 4 I would create drum-kits out of kitchen-wear, at age 6 I expressed my interest in playing real drums, by age 7 that first drum-kit would arrive. I am blessed to have an incredibly supportive family, without whom none of this would have been possible.

From there I took private lessons, later, in middle school I would join a band and go on to play occasional shows. Eventually, I found a wonderful mentor, Bill Winiker, who instructed me in Jazz drums and gave me incredible opportunities to play on stage with world-class Jazz musicians. Along the way I began to learn Guitar, Piano, and a wide range of other instruments.

My uncle, Peter, played a significant role in fostering my musical development, through middle and high-school I would visit his home-studio and record original music. This is what first introduced me to the possibility of doing it myself.

In 2013, during my first year of college I began to compose orchestral music. This was facilitated by using digital sample libraries and so the need for production and mixing skills became apparent. Through a process of trial and error, study, and later another mentor, Dae Ho Cheon, I acquired and developed the necessary skills. Also during this period, I began to develop a parallel skill-set, Photography and Cinematography.

In 2017 I moved from Boston, MA, to Virginia Beach. I started out building a name playing open mics, later I played in bands as well as solo-acoustic shows. When the 2020 Pandemic hit, I focused more on the studio side of things and started working to produce and engineer music for local artists.

Now 2023, I have taken my years of experience in performing, writing, recording, producing, engineering, booking, managing, marketing, photographing, and filming to create a unique combination of skills and a space that is authentically me. A space that is designed to draw forth what is authentically you and make your vision a reality. This is what SoundCage is all about.

“We don’t manifest what we want, we manifest who we are” and through this process we attract what we reflect.
